Vamplit Writers

We've changed our name to Vamplit Writers as it has become a little difficult with so many vamplit sites. The new vamplit site Vamplit Publishing has just been launched and now I have my personal blog back again and am changing the format to promote Vamplit Writers work. Nothing has really changed except our address. Our new contact form is accessible from this link submissions and this change should help with the flow of manuscripts being acknowledged quickly.

To anyone waiting for a manuscript to be edited I am working around the clock, but the other editors did not work out and it is now just me again and my trusty copy editor/proofreader. Our aim is to publish as many titles on our slush pile as is humanly possible, in the shortest time imaginable.

On a personal note, I would just like to thank all of you for your contributions to this group. I hope that what we build here will be a friendly writers' group, committed to improving our own writing skills and helping others to do the same.

If anyone would like to publish their work on Vamplit Writer's Ezine site just post it in the ezine group page with any added information such as pen name.

Due to the amount of submissions I'm receiving the delay on contacting authors after review is now running to months not weeks, sorry for the delay. If you haven't heard and are concerned then please email me. Vamplit Publsihing is closed to new submissions untill the New Year. If you have already sent my your manuscript or I have asked to read your work when you've finished writting then this doen't affect you.

Thank you

Gaynor

Red Moon

My shadow is an illusion of fear
No reflection in my crystallized tear
The red moon trapped in its enchanting ways
Caught in a yellow stone colored highlighted gaze
My fangs become one with the night
As the blood flows I grip the vein tight
Immortal as black becomes my soul
Darkness bleeds into the piercing shaped hole
Through the centuries I’m feeling reborn
Religion broken when the crown is cut in half by the horn
I now walk between the unholy flame
Alucard becomes my new powerful name
The sta… Continue

Randall Stone one of our most prolific writers here is also writing a column for Vamplit Writers' Ezine. The first and now the second part are now available to read http://vamplit.com/2009/11/the-blutsauger-chronicles-part-ii-by-randall-stone/ and I personally have know idea where he gets the time to write from.

Happy Friday the 13th, Vampires

At a party late one night
Saw this vixen smile at me
She said come up to my room
If there’s more you’d like to see
Something told me not to
Lust said it had to be

She pulled me into her room
Used a key to lock the door
Started kissing on my neck
Took off all the clothes I wore
When her fangs scratched my neck
My blood began to pour

In the corner stood a bro… Continue

Melisa Alonzo

Xavier

In the cavern
Dark and Deep
His wandering soul
And hers will meet
Dark dimensions
Near and Far
Have bound them here
Forever more

But still Xavier's heart beats shrill
When her hand inside he feels
So that the shadows
When they reach
Swallow them both
Where none my breach

When light cascades
Like a waterfall
Shadows will be left
And that is all

Zombie Romance

Hi all
I've been twittering with pinkbagels about a new genre zombie romance and they are going to post something on their site http://therandomeye.atspace.com/ I think it would be fun to write and they do, according to the website, pay for short stories.

Let me know if you think you'd like to have a go and check out the tweets to see how much fun we had with the idea. Tongue in cheek style could make for great horror/comedy. Of course if you want… Continue

The Midnight Visitor

It started out like any other day under the sun. I got up and folded my covers, cause I slept on the couch in the living room, than waited for my two sisters, Kim and Renee, to get out of the only bathroom we had so I could get ready for school. Kim is a year older than me, she is sixteen, and Renee is five years younger than me. I am the middle child of the three, making life even more difficult for me.

We were not well off financially, shoot we didn’t even reach middle class status, but we we… Continue

Vampire/Werewolf Cookbook

Hey everyone,

I thought it would be awesome to put together a Vampire/Werewolf inspired cookbook. Anything yummy, bloody, and well scary is welcome. If anyone has any recipes they would like to share, you will get credit for it on the specific page.

Let me know what you think and any recipes you want to add!

Very nice. I have one of those Todd McFarlane Jack the Ripper figurines in my home library for inspiration...writing inspiration, that is! The piece leaves me wanting more. Well done.

This is an interesting piece, I like the style you have used here, in which you, the writer become a character in your own short story, it would be a fantastic novel. A very intelligent and well considered peice of writing. Thanks for sharaing!
